Description
The RESTEK MSAT + satellite tuner is a hi-fi radio that is used exclusively for high-quality audio reception from DVB-S radio stations. Audio is not a waste product of a video receiver here. You don't need a screen to operate the MSAT +. With the MSAT +, RESTEK is finally opening up the satellite transmission technology of radio programs to audiophile listeners.
The RESTEK MSAT + satellite tuner is state of the art.
Today, a very large number of stations can be received via various satellites, including some with excellent program material and very good transmission quality.
Compared to other elements of a hi-fi stereo system, the radio is probably still the most technically complex and complicated device. Just imagine that a radio must be able to transform a hi-fi system into the chaos of the different electromagnetic frequencies around it Filter out a signal from a precisely determined oscillation that changes several million times per second.
This is no different for a digital radio - regardless of whether it is received via satellite antenna, cable or DAB earth antenna - than with an analog FM radio. Only the transmitted signal is no longer transmitted “digitally” but “analog”.
Best sound also via digital radio
Through the use of the latest technologies combined with complex manufacturing methods, it is now possible for us to increase the playback quality of a DVB-S radio in such a way that the reception quality is comparable to that of CD and record players.
Our experience and knowledge from the development and production of our famous classic tuners were incorporated into the design of the MSAT +. We have potentially separated the entire SAT reception technology from the audio electronics. This way we reliably avoid hum loops and negative feedback. A high-quality sample rate converter and a powerful 24-bit 192 kS multibit digital-to-analog converter make it possible to set a large number of bit resolutions and converter rates. So the listener can determine the quality of the audio playback himself within wide limits.
With the integrated volume control, operation on active speakers is possible
Using the volume control, which can be switched on and off, the signal can be attenuated down to -99 dB in 1 dB steps. In this way, the playback volume can be adapted to that of the other available signal sources. The volume control also allows the MSAT + tuner to be connected directly to active boxes or power amplifiers.
The drivers of the analog RCA outputs establish the connection to the preamplifier, the power amplifiers or the active loudspeakers. The low output resistance of 50 ohms and the maximum current of up to 35 mA rms of these driver stages enable correct line adaptation on the one hand and on the other hand the use of sometimes inevitable long connection cables between the radio and the preamplifier or power amplifier or the active loudspeakers without impairing the music signal.
All parts of the electronics of the MSAT + are DC-coupled. This enables the transmission of even the lowest frequencies. Even in the lowest frequency spectrum, music is transmitted without distortion and phase locked.
There are no capacitors or electrolytic capacitors in the signal path, which could cause corruption. Noise and crosstalk can only be detected at the measuring limit.
A digital tuner with a timelessly modern design
The claim to ease of use and great functionality is achieved by the ability to operate all special functions using the remote control or a single controller. So the design of the radio remains puristically clear and timelessly modern.
