The flagship model of the Constellation Series.

The Dual cabinet design decouples bass energy from the upper cabinet where most of the musical spectrum is reproduced. The upper cabinet places the drivers higher from the ground - controlling floor and ceiling bounce in a predictable manner.

The proprietary cross over configuration offers a unique solution to driver interaction and to control total energy radiated. The drivers behave and merge as one through overlapping crossover points also while controlling the desired radiation pattern, hence early reflections are controlled in order resulting in a much wider sound stage.

Preserving the ambient information on recordings is also key to recreating the recorded event. The Usra Major was designed to take in to account the dynamic range of both recording and the the closed space the speaker will be reproducing the recorded event in. Taking into account the ear-brain loudness contours of a typical listener in room Chario tilts the speakers frequency response to account for this and reverberation decay of any closed space.

This procedure is similar to “spatial equalization” practiced by researchers at the recording stage.

Ursa Major is a unique design among domestic listening systems because of its technological gap that cannot be filled by traditional design criteria. All the features of Constellation “K” Series are fully exploited. The 4-way design while lowering the frequency response down to 35 Hz relieves the Woofer-Mid driver from intermodulation distortion in a better way than it is possible with the other two floorstanding systems. Furthermore the structure is made up of two cabinets separated by means of four cylindrical rubber feet which act as vibration de-couplers dissipating mechanical energy, hence avoiding any vibration transmission from subwoofer to upper drivers. Also the trapezoidal shape is useful to reduce the stationary pressure field of the air volume inside. The two drivers Bass Reflex NRS™ configured at the bottom of the cabinet act as an extremely powerful subwoofer responsible for the perception of a stable, deep and wide front stage. But Ursa Major “K” goes far beyond. For the best performance we suggest listening room volume not less than 90 m3 while can be safely driven by 100-180 Watt(rms) / 4 Ohm* power amplifiers.
